The Ducks at Lucchesi

"A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky."

"The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own."

The above poetic stanzas are lifted from Maya Angelou's Caged Bird poem. The photos are of the ducks at the Lucchesi Park in Petaluma, California. It was a warm spring afternoon; a beautiful day for bird watching and a walk around the park. There were a lot of ducks enjoying the sun and the cool lake; hence, a great opportunity to appreciate nature in its glory and action.

Ahoy Sailor...

Twenty years from now
you will be more disappointed
by the things that you didn’t do
than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.  Dream.  Discover.(Mark Twain)

Photo was taken at SFO bay along the Marina boulevard.

Fine Art Details

I have a fascination on structures: dwellings, hotels, homes, barns, buildings, etc. The details and how each of these structures are built amazes me; thus, I sometimes like to click away photos of various structures I come across anywhere in my travels.
My biggest dream is travel to Europe especially in Rome. I look forward to thousands of photographs on various architectures both modern and centuries old structures. The details, the curves, the lines of every structure are simply art in my eyes.

The above photos are the architectural details of the Palace of Fine Arts in SFO. For now these are the closest architectural details I can imagine in Rome or in any other European cities.

Golden Gate Bridge Vista Points

It will never feel like you have been to San Francisco if you have not paid a "visit" to the Golden Gate Bridge. This world famous bridge is seen countless of times in the hit series "Charmed".

There are so many vista points to appreciate the beauty of this famous attraction, to name a few:
  • From the South side of SFO. It's the vista point along the bridge toll booths towards US 101 North.
  • Fort Point. Click here for directions to the Fort Point National Historic Park.
  • At the Marina Avenue in SFO
  • From Marin County: Sausalito. Take the Sausalito exit; then, drive up to the hill where the road leads you to not just one, but 4 more vista points.
  • Lincoln Avenue and Baker Beach. Turn right out of the south vista point parking lot onto Lincoln.
  • Palace of the Legion of Honor. Following the 49-mile Scenic Drive towards and from the Golden Gate Bridge offers you great views of the bridge.
  • On the bridge. Never leave the place without walking, biking, or jogging onto the bridge.
Of course there are more vista points I have yet to discover. One more thing, for great photos of the bridge, the best time is either during sunrise or sunset. The afternoon glow will bask the bridge with yellow tone sun rays; thus, earning it's name as Golden Gate bridge.
