Age Does Not Matter at Disneyland

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." - Walt Disney

My dream of an out of the country trip for the family, my dream to tour Disneyland with my sister who loves Winnie the Pooh a lot, and my sister's dream to visit the "happiest place on Earth." all came true. We made sure to visit Disneyland when we were in Hongkong and we allotted an entire day for it. My sister was excited coz' she would finally  meet Winnie the Pooh (even if it's just a mascot) and would ride the dreaded Space Mountain. I was looking forward to that day because I wanted my family to experience the fun and happiness I had felt when I visited a Disneyland theme park.

Disneyland Hongkong is located in Lantau island which is really far from Tsim Sha Tsui. No worries though because it is easily accessible by taking the MTR line going to Lai King station. At Lai King station, hop on to Tung Chung line; then, get off at the Sunny Bay station which is the interchange station to the Disneyland Resort line. When we saw the Disneyland "welcome" arc and the Mickey Mouse flower bed, we could not contain our excitement. Off we went and enjoyed the rides, the shops, the shows, and the characters.

There are too many cute stuffed toys, trinkets, hats, headbands, and other souvenir items of our favorite Disney characters. Beware though because they are quite pricey.

Be sure not to miss the Flights of Fantasy Parade on Main Street. The parade and show schedules may vary depending on the season. The guide pamphlets, which are found near the theme park entrance, can be of great help to maximize a day.

Sometime during the day, I noticed the balloon lady. I almost stalked her wherever she would go. It was a good thing I still had some sense left in me. No...I was not after the balloon lady herself; I was mesmerized by the balloons she was selling. I loved the white balloons with colorful Disney character prints and of course the Mickey and Minnie Mouse head balloons. Mind you, I was not alone; there were so many other visitors who even requested a picture with the balloon lady and her big bundle. I wish I could bring ALL the balloons home. ***sigh***

Just like any day, sadly it had to end. We failed to watch the illumination of Sleeping Beauty's castle and the fireworks display. Our aching feet could no longer take it so we head back to TST for a well deserved rest.

On an unrelated post, the big RED VIOLET heart on the Disney princesses float is a perfect match for this week's Project 64: Out of the Box assignment. Check out the link for more interesting red violet finds.

That balloon is such a great match to the red violet challenge.
