Travel: Imperial Water Park Resort and Spa

I had a chance to visit the Imperial Water Park Resort and Spa in Mactan, Cebu last month. Thanks to the Cenabre's for the opportunity. Thank you!!! I had heard about the park a year ago, but I never took the prerogative to avail its amenities. I dunno probably because I just live nearby and I kept on thinking that I would have plenty of time to go. I had heard so many good and fun things at the park; so one weekend I made sure to take a lot of photos to share.

The resort is also a hotel. In fact, there are two big buildings that house 556 rooms. Wow!!!

Upon entry to the resort, you will be greeted with a grand foyer that leads to a cafe and a few shops. I love the availability of various chairs and sofas, but the set up extremely reminds me of another resort in Mactan. I am puzzled, but I brushed it off easily.

This is a water park right? And true to it's name, the resort boasts not just 1, not 2, but 5 swimming pools. For variety and enjoyment, each pool has a theme which includes an Amazon, a wave, a beach, a Captain Hook's, and a toddler's pool. I also noticed some lifeguards on duty; it's nice to know that they are concerned with safety.

Now, if you are one who do not like swimming pools and would rather sit back, relax, and enjoy the beach or the sea view; then, the resort also offers such interest. The beach front is not that wide though, but it's good enough for some R&R. Of course, one will be exhausted after availing the resort's is something they do not miss to offer. They have several restaurants, but just like any luxury resort, it's gotta be pricey. I like the seaside restaurant with an open-roof dining. It's a nice place to enjoy the sea breeze with a sumptuous meal.
The resort offers a day and a night tripper package without having to stay overnight or book a room. It's a nice idea especially for locals. They also have a special pricing for local residents, you just have to prove your residency. I even saw other foreigners who were staying in other resorts who also avail of these packages. One thing I also noticed, their patrons are predominantly Koreans. It's not surprising considering that the resort is owned by a Korean.
Eventually, I cannot help but form a conclusion that the resort looks like a replica of Shangrila, Mactan; albeit with a few differences here and there. My observation is confirmed by others and I am even told of an "urban legend" about how and why the park is built as such. I'll just leave it like this, a mystery...but for sure no mystery will shroud the promise of a fun and exciting activities at the resort.
