Finally, I Found You!!!

...and here I thought that I will not find the color other than in the obvious fruit - orange. Two years ago I was crazy with coloring anything. It even led me to craft handmade cards with stamp accents just so I can play with colors. Coloring pencils are my favorite medium to the point that I invested in a good set and a friend gave me a year ago with the one and the premium Prisma colors, which I have coveted for quite sometime.

Why do I like to color? I find that with this activity it quiets my often busy mind and brings me back to my core. I don't know...there's just a sense of peace when it's only me and my thoughts while I let my imagination run using colors. It is timely that while I am at a frenzy searching the color for Project 64 Out of the Box: orange, I but find it in the stuff that have brought me serenity.

{Engaged} Cat and Mico

"I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul."

"I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body."

"I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way than this:

"where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.”

And their love gives birth to a super cute baby CJ. If Cat is the queen of their family and Mico is the king, baby CJ is definitely the ACE.

The family is apart from each other most months of the year; thus, seeing them together is so adorable.  It's also sweet to see the father and son bond. I hope one day that their family will soon be together wherever their work and destiny brings them.

ThanksGiving and a Just You Portrait

Happy Thanksgiving to all the friends and family across the pond. This US holiday delivers a great message that is wonderfully celebrated each year. So despite that we don't celebrate this American cultural tradition in my country, I pause and do my own thank you(s) for the year that is about to pass. One of which is being grateful to  meet and to know more each person through photography.

I learned so much from my encounters and come to value the individuality of each one. Adults and kids alike react and mingle differently. The uniqueness of each person's character, attitude, and even pet peeves make them interesting. And since every post is more fun with photos, here's a full post of the portrait session with the most unique person thus far that I have photographed, Jules.

Close Call

"The biggest mistake you can make is being too afraid to make one."

It's already mid November, any time soon it's gonna be December, and as a matter of time a new year it will be. A new year, another year of resolutions. I have started this year by using a single word to define my goals and I like it because it's an easy guide for my resolutions. I feel like continuing it for the coming year. In fact as early as now my single word for 2012 has already revealed to me and it has something to do with fear, but it's gonna be in another post...for now here's an entry for Project 64 Out of the Box: purple.

It's a Sunday and here I am posting a blog. The reason for it? I'm late for this project...let's see it's barely 6 hours before the linky closes. Hehehe. Oh well, have a great Sunday everyone.

{A Glimpse in the Life} The Campano Family

Remember this photo from the Sneak Peek? I did not understand why the little boy, Gyan, gave me a thumbs up. I took it as my cue that he was ready to pose. Boy, I was wrong because every time I shouted the 1-2-3-pose, he would not keep still instead he would move around; hence, I clicked the shutter continuously. It was when I reviewed the shots that I realized what the thumbs-up was after all. It was Gyan's way of confirming whether I am ready to take his picture of "acting" like a pirate. You see, Gyan was bringing a pirate hat prop and he took it upon himself to act like one. So every time I called in the posing cue, he would strike his imaginary sword into mid-air just like he's in for a sword fight. :)

I like the Campano's, they were not camera shy at all. I even received suggestions like a yoga pose and in fact, the two boys: Liam and Gyan was very ready with their sporty attire complete with a golf club and soccer ball. They took it seriously too, or should I say Gyan was into it. He placed his hand onto his forehead to strike a pose like he was estimating the distance of the hole.

The young boys were not missing in action at all, for there they showed up at their parents couple shot too. They liked to ham it up for the camera even the cutie-pie, Liam, gave me a ramp model walk and a pose while Gyan followed...and went passed by his brother.

Young boys and girls are really opposites in more ways than one; that is as far as I had observed during photo sessions. But it did not mean that I did not equally enjoy the session with the boys. Who would ever come up with poses such that they were "plants and zombies" accompanied with a "sssshhhhinnnngggg" sound? I felt a tremendous generation gap when I was bewildered what they were doing and what it was about. Thanks to their mom, Mar, for coming to my rescue.

When it comes to sessions with kids, I like to do it outdoors, I had noticed that their personality and characters come out naturally in such an environment and you would never miss a wonderful story behind every shot.

And I guess it would apply to adults too. Bordz and Mar were so game with every pose and I even let them do some engagement style poses for which they just jumped right in without hesitation especially, Bordz. I guess the kids took it after all from the parents for their wacky and fun poses.

Days before the session, I was thinking all the time that Mar would be wearing a girly dress to astonish everyone. My, I was extremely looking forward to it, but she remained true to herself (grin). Maybe next time Mar? Shall we say, complete with a long gown and stiletto heels, hhhmmm?

Sneak Peek: Fabulous Session

The "Just You" portraits is intended to reflect and bring out the character and personality of the subject. But I advise my clients to also tap the extraordinary in them so to make the photo session unique. So I am glad when Pearl suggested to me an idea of a portrait session where it's a glam up day for her and her family. I looked forward to that day and it did not disappoint. The statuesque Pearl was very elegant in her blue floor-length gown and I will let the photos do the talking...

Thank you Pearl and your family for welcoming me to your beautiful abode. More photos to come especially the furry and super duper cute, Martin. I don't mind him being naughty because anyway he is so adorable.

Sneak Peek: Save the Date

"For it was not my ear you whispered, but into my heart.
It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."
 - Judy Garland -

Two soul mates who are introduced to me by a good friend. Two kindred souls who will tie the knot at a church wedding in one of the best season of the year, during the Christmas holidays. Leni and Rommel are one of the best couples I have worked with. They are the most calm and cooperative subjects. I cannot ask for anything more; hence me and my camera loved them both. Leni and Rommel, I owe you big time for this opportunity, but for now here are a few photos during the session.

"To love is not to look at one another. It is to look together in the same direction."
A few more days and I promise you'll get to see more of the photos. :)
